2011 was another fabulous year. Rob, Jeremy, Jon, Jared, Justin, Jason, John, Dan, Dave, Matt and Preston worked hard with a lot of great clients and of course many wonderful vendors this past year. I had the honor to DJ for Lauren Wood (wedding coordinator from Franklin Park) and her husband Alex Mach on Nov. 12th in the Palm House at Franklin Park. I have worked with Lauren many times at many different events and I was glad that she choose us as her DJ and Photobooth company. Franklin Park's (Field To Table)

This is my third year doing Franklin Park's Field To Table event. I have always enjoyed this event because I get to play about 4 hours of background music consisting of Josh Groban, Jack Johnson, Michael Buble, Mozart, Harry Connick, Glenn Miller, Perry Como, Dean Martin and of course Frank Sinatra. It's a nice change from the party atmosphere to a relaxed soothing evening. This event will usually have about 600 or more guests all sitting down to eat dinner together. It's amazing to watch all the servers do what they do and make the night flawless for the guests. The staff at Franklin Park does a great job putting this together. Most people know that Franklin Park is one of my favorite places to DJ. I love the unique atmosphere and the wonderful staff. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

What a night full of excitement! Ted and Lauren your wedding was full of so much tradition and love. We are so glad that we got to be a part of the celebration that followed your wedding. What a great Saturday night at Yankee Trace just outside of the Dayton area. Clint and Jackie you guys had a wonderful celebration that kept strong all night long. Walter Commons at St. Charles was looking absolutely spectacular last night. The O'Connell wedding was the kick off of over 40 events that we will have there this year! It was great getting to work with Lotz Photography again and it was great to see them capturing so many wonderful moments throughout the night. Lindsay and Kevin your wedding was truly beautiful and we're so thankful to have been able to celebrate it with you. What a great wedding to end 2010 and begin 2011. Dan and I were at Confluence Park for the wedding reception of Donavin and Nealie Farber. There were about 200 guests who were all ready to bring in the New Year together. I played a little a little of every genre and dance floor was packed all night. We had our photobooth there as and the guests could not get enough of it. The night was so fun and went by so quickly for us. Dan and I really enjoyed ourselves and wish Donavin and Nealie the best!

The Pinnacle golf & country club looked better than ever last night as it was all decked out in Christmas attire. It was such a great atmosphere to celebrate the newly married couple Nathan and Chelsea. The Ohio State themed cake was done very nicely and proved to be a hit among the guests. Dave and I had the pleasure of DJing and working The Photobooth for the employees of Victoria's Secret. It was amazing to work at the head quarters and see the operation of a mega company. Although we did not see the models walking around - the big talk was about the outfits from the fashion show that aired a few days ago. The outfits were being shipped in - including the big wings some of the models wore. Everyone was very nice and made our experience fun and memorable. We will have the pleasure of going back on Tuesday for another fun day.

First things first, WOW what an unbelievably awesome wedding! This wedding had by far the highest energy crowd of the year. The gloomy weather was no match for the Wachters' and their guests as they celebrated Jarrod & Molly's marriage with fun and excitement. The reception was filled with special dances and happy faces. The skies looked gloomy this evening and it seemed as if the Lange's wedding was going to have to take place inside of Northbank Park, but just before the ceremony the skies cleared and the beginning of a beautiful evening began unfolding. The guests were not only treated to a wonderful evening of dancing and celebration, but a delicious dinner catered by Cameron Mitchells. What a great year 2009 was. As a dad, I had a lot of firsts. Jase said his first words, took his first steps, had his first B-Day and so on. Amanda and I have had our hands full and we are so blessed to have such a beautiful son. Now I know most of my recent posts have been about Jase and not a lot about business. Encore and The Photobooth have done very well for 2009.

Encore Entertainment won "Consumers' Choice Award 2009 For Business Excellence" which we are very proud of. I am taking all of my DJ's to the award banquet this coming January. We also had a great year with a lot of great clients. Myself and my disc jockeys are always honored to be apart of our clients wedding's. This year we had many couples that were so much fun to work with. As we are booking new clients for 2010, we are noticing that couples are much more relaxed, out going and fun to work with. This always makes for a great reception. Thank you to all our past clients and our future clients.

The Photobooth is doing amazing. What a hot new trend for weddings. We currently have 2 photobooths that available to rent. When we do parties and weddings, guests are blown away on how much fun they are. When we are attending the photobooth at an event, we too have a lot of fun with the guests. We love to watch them get in and make funny faces, do silly things with friends and family. It brings a lot of energy to any event. 2010 will be our third year in business and are looking to expand even more.

Like I have said, being a dad is the most life changing but most joyful experience. Amanda has put together a wonderful blog for Jase which she will update as new events unfold. I will still post some of my favorite pictures of Jase on my blog but now we have a blog dedicated just for our boy.

This summer has been crazy! Amanda and I have had so much going on. Encore and The Photobooth has kept me very busy with work and Jase has kept both of us on our feet. He's growing so fast and becomes more loving everyday. He loves to give kisses and hugs and it's the best feeling ever.

I know it's been a while

I can't believe it's been over two months since I have had posted a blog. There hasn't been a whole lot going on except watching Jase grow. He wakes up every morning with a smile on his face. I can't say enough on how happy he is. Amanda and I are very much in love with Jase. Amanda has been doing well also. We are just so ready for summer to be here. Encore and The Photo booth are rockin! I am so excited about the two companies. I have had some really great weddings and some extremely fun parties too. If you haven't heard yet, make sure to come see me at Franklin Park every Thursday night for Cocktails at The Conservatory. It's just a fun, relaxed atmosphere with all sorts of people hanging out. I play all sorts of music from Acid Jazz to Trance and all sorts of Pop and Top 40 music. I would love to see you there! Thanks everybody for your love and support, here are some pictures to enjoy.

Time To Get Back To Work

Well things have been really crazy lately. Jase was born and it was like life just paused for a while as we enjoyed our new baby boy and got situated into being a new family. We got lots of warnings about losing sleep and no time for ourselves and we did expect that, but no one told us that it mentally drains you. It can be difficult to run a business out of your home and also take care of a new born baby, but I would not change it for anything. Jase is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen, of course. But, now the end of the year is here and it's time to start planning for next year.

We exceeded our goals and had a terrific year. We launched the photobooth and it's been a huge hit from the beginning. We had more weddings this year than we have had in previous years. In 2007 I had this great feeling that 2008 was going to be a great year an IT WAS! Jase was born, I have a beautiful wife who treats me well, business is doing great and I feel so blessed to be where I am.

Now that 2008 is over, I am thinking about 2009. First is first and that is the big bridal show Columbus Bride puts on at Vets Memorial. This will be our fifth year and we are going have a huge display with The Photobooth and Encore Entertainment. We expect a great number of bookings from the bridal show so I decided to build a second booth. The goal is to have the booth up and running by May.

I want to thank all my family, friends and my friends in the wedding industry for all the love and support you have shown. We greatly appreciate all the things you do and love you being a part of our lives. Now let's get to work!

I am so glad to be going into the slow season. This will give me much more time to spend with my new baby, Jase. Amanda is doing great! I can't believe how wonderful she is doing. Since we can't go out right now on our date nights, we just have our date nights at home. It's kinda cool! I'll go and pick up dinner and bring it back home to eat, then we'll watch a movie. It is a total 180 from what we are used too. But so happy to be doing it. Jase is doing absolutely perfect. We are happy with the growth and progress he is making. Jase was born at 1:03am Thursday November 6th at OSU Hospital. Amanda was in labor for 12 hours and did an amazing job. Jase weights 6lbs and 13oz. He is 20 inches long and has the most beautiful face. We came home on Friday around 2:45pm and Jase has been so wonderful. He feeds when he needs to feed and sleeps a whole lot. The only time he cries is when we have to take his clothes off to change him. Of course Amanda and I will be woken during the middle of the night a couple of times to feed him, well, I mean for Amanda to feed him. I always get the honor of changing him. People always say that your life changes when you have a baby and they are not kidding. I know exactly what that means now. Amanda and I are so thrilled to have baby Jase home and are excited now to raise him.

I surprised Amanda today and took her back to Ultrasona to have another ultrasound. We were very curious to see our little man. As you can see, he is extremely adorable. He is a great looking baby. Amanda and I feel so blessed and just can't wait for his arrival. Not quite sure when he will be arriving, but the lady at Ultrasona says the end of October. Either way, Just glad he is going to be here soon. Thank you to everyone for your love and support as Amanda and I totally change our lives with the birth of our son Jase.

This year has been amazing! Encore Entertainment has had an extremely successful year. I have made a lot of new friends and both Amanda's and my family are doing very well. But, the greatest news has been the news of our new baby. We are only 6 weeks away and now patiently waiting for his arrival. We took the hospital tour the other night and wow, it really hits you when you are standing in the delivery room knowing you are going to be there in just a little over a month. We have finished the baby's room and are now receiving gifts from our baby showers. This is exactly why I feel so blessed from God. God does amazing and incredible things. I love waking up everyday knowing something new is going to happen. I have no idea what it may be, I have know idea if it will great news, bad news or even a life changing event. But, I do know that it has happened for a reason and that reason is God working in my life.

A few weeks ago my grandfather had his 65th class reunion. 65 Years!!! Wow! He has had a yearly class reunion since his 60th. It's amazing how most of these people look for being in their 80's. My grandfather graduated from Newark High School right before he went into World War II. He married my grandmother when he came back from the war and were together for 60 years before my grandmother passed away a few years ago. My grandmother was a Christian but my grandfather was not. When my grandmother passed away, my grandfather then found Jesus and now has been saved. Another reason I feel blessed. It's amazing how God has worked in my grandparents lives. My grandfather is a wonderful person. He is so giving and so generous to others. I am proud to have his as a grandfather.

This past Tuesday I had so much fun DJing for Victoria Secret. They held a huge party out in their parking lot with several hundred employees. They had corn hole, football games, a photo booth and tons of food. I had a great time mixing it up for them.

Nate and Jessica were married on Monday August 25th, 2008. Yes, I said Monday. It was a beautiful evening and everything turned out so perfect for them. The ceremony and reception took place on the West Terrace of Franklin Park Conservatory. This was my first wedding there since the lighting of the Palm House. Jessica created all her programs and I was blown away on how amazing they looked. Nate and Jessica are such a great couple and I felt so honored to be a part of their special day!

I was also glad to work with my good friend Jim Hicks of Davis Photography. I haven't had a chance to work with him for quite a while. These three pictures are from him and he is also the photographer who did all my photos on my website. Jim is an incredible person and I have a lot of respect for him. He has a wife with three kids, operates Davis Photography and is also the president of Thirst Relief International, an organization providing clean drinking water to different areas of the world who are less fortunate. Thank God For Vacations!!!

This past week Amanda and I planned a trip to Myrtle Beach. We stayed in her mom and dad's time share condo in South Myrtle. We had an awesome time. I was so glad to relax and take it easy. Usually when I go on vacation, I will still take phone calls and answer emails, but this trip all I wanted to do was relax and enjoy a vacation with my wife. It was beautiful every day till the last day when we left. Of course we ate out a lot and when we weren't eating out, we were eating in with Kripsy Kream Doughnuts. YUMMY YUMMY!!!! I must have eaten a dozen donuts while I was there. This vacation is probably our last vacation for quite a while since our baby Jase is on the way. Here are some pictures from our trip.

The New Franklin Park!!!!!

B.E.A.utiful is how I can describe the illumination of the Palm House at The Franklin Park Conservatory. I had the honor of providing the music for both the "Zen Terrace" and "The Grove" which are the new rooftop gardens during the grand opening. Franklin Park has added three new spaces at their location. Well, actually four. They have the two gardens, the new Veridian (an indoor space), and a brides garden. This venue is absolutely amazing as you can see in the pictures. But seeing it in person is a total different experience. I too am excited to be co-hosting the "Cocktails @ The Conservatory" every Thursday night which will be a 21 and over crowd mingling and hanging out as they enjoy some create cosmos. Amanda and I were out shopping at Cosco's today and we ran into Jim Sanders and his wife Jane. We had a great conversation about our weddings we did this past weekend as well as a show we will be working together here in the near future. It's funny when you are working a wedding everybody is dressed up in their finest attire and then to run into them just out and about in shorts and a shirt. If your not careful, you may not recognize somebody you work with quite often. I always love running into other vendors and discussing wedding stuff. I know it sounds funny, but I just love my job! I really do love what I do! I am extremely blessed and honored to have this wonderful business and to have wonderful friends assisting with me. This weekend I was at the Franklin Park Conservatory working with some of my favorite vendors again. Jim Sanders with Jim Sanders Photography, Chris with Blue Skies Video and Katie of The Cake Studio. Dave and Jeremy were also out at Brookside Golf and Country Club and Confluence Park. This has been a very busy and successful summer. I have had the opportunity to work with some wonderful clients which always make the job much more fun. Niagara Falls

Amanda and I just got back from Niagara Falls yesterday and we had an amazing time. This was both our first time there. It was so nice to relax and get away for a while. The falls were incredible and the food was outstanding even though service in Canada is kinda slow. We viewed the falls from both the Canadian and the US side. US definitely has a better view but there is a lot more to do in Canada. It was hard to get some good pictures close to the falls because water is just flying everywhere. I highly recommend Niagara Falls to anyone who just wants to get away for a few days.

Hip Hip Hooray!!! Just what I was hoping for. Today started off bad because we went to our regular doctor and she only took about 5 mins with us to see if we could determine the sex of our baby. Of course she couldn't (we're not too happy with her and I think we will be switching doctors). We left there all bummed out. But we knew of this place called Utrasona which offers better services and images. We paid $100 and got in right away. This place was absolutely amazing. We saw the images on a 52" LCD and we saw the baby in 4d imaging. What an amazing feeling to hear we're having a boy and to see these beautiful images. Totally made our day! Amanda and I are extremely happy and can't wait till November. Ultrasona gave us a birth date of Nov. 8th now.

Man O Man! May has been one crazy busy month. Three of my seven weddings I did this month took place at Franklin Park. I also DJ'ed at Northbank Park, The Vault, The Lakes Country Club and The Columbus Museum of Art. Each of my weddings this month turned out to be really high energy parties. I was happy for all my clients because I know all their guests had a great time. June is going to be even busier. We have 30 shows from pool parties to weddings.

The Most Packed Dance Floor

This past weekend I was the disc jockey for Bob & Emily Muhn's reception which took place at The Franklin Park Conservatory. Bob & Emily were the most relaxed couple I have worked with. They made the night extremely fun not just for themselves and their guests, but all the staff and vendors had a great time as well. The wedding was a 155 guests and when we kicked the evening off with Brown Eyed Girl, the dance floor was full all the way till the end which was 2.5 hours. Thank you Bob & Emily for being so relaxed and having faith in all your vendors. This will be a wedding that will always be remembered as the most packed dance floor within the Palm House of Franklin Park. I am looking forward to next week where I will be in the Palm House again working for Lauren (Coordinator of Franklin Park.)

I just received some photos from Adam Lowe of Matt at Rachael Teliak's reception on April 26th, 2008. Rachael and Matt were really nice and I enjoyed working with them. I have never known a couple that loves 80's music so much. We had a lot of fun in our meeting and of course the night of their reception was amazing. Their reception was located at The Columbus Athletic Club and the room looked incredible. I was also glad to work with Adam Lowe of Adam Lowe Photography. I had the pleasure of being a part of the Erik & Aletha de Vries reception. Erik & Aletha are an amazing couple. Their reception was held at The Columbus Museum of Art. Aletha has a flair for decorating and planning events. She did a awesome job because I have never seen the Museum looks so beautiful. Of course I also had the pleasure working with Donald Stock and his staff who do great work. I always love working with people who love their job and make sure that their clients event goes perfect. Donald is an amazing event manager and I highly recommend The Columbus Museum of Art! I wish Erik and Aletha the best!

What a fun party! Sara and Michelle celebrated their 16th birthday at The Lakes Country Club last night. Everyone had a blast! They had about 40 of their friends with them and I was so glad that they were all super nice. I don't think I have ever played so much top 40 music. Thank goodness I had one of my other disc jockeys there with me, Austin. He was able to take all the requests and find all the music. Their parents did a wonderful job planning. I was honored they chose me to be their DJ. Thanks!

The Season Is Here

What great weekend! We had three weddings take place and I was glad to hear that Dave, Jeremy and myself all had very successful weddings. Dave was at the Walter Center which I hear is super spacious and very nice. I was at The Westin Great Southern for the second time this month. The Westin in my opinion is the most upscale hotel ballroom in Columbus. Built in 1897, the Westin still looks like a million bucks. Beautiful marble flooring is just one of the nice features there. The staffing is wonderful and of course you have the option of staying over night if you wish.
I also had the pleasure of working with Joe of Panarello Consulting. Joe is absolutely amazing. She is super nice, down to earth and I can really tell she loves and cares about her clients. Her and I had a lot of fun and helped each other create the perfect wedding for Heath & Jennifer Williams.
Another first for me this weekend was being able to witness the Buckeye Brass play during the reception. Jennifer surprised Heath with this special moment. Everybody sung along while they played our favorite Buckeye songs. It was a lot of fun and I could tell the guests really enjoyed it.

Snow Day!!! (kinda)

Thank goodness there was like 20" of snow on the ground or this wreck might have hurt. This is my best friend Eric trying to go through a snow drift and not quite making it. Eric owns a couple of 4 wheelers and we had the best time on them this past Saturday during the Blizzard of '08. Unfortunately we weren't able to play to long . I had to get to a wedding.

Kevin & Sherry got married at Franklin Park and I was so happy that everything turned out perfect for them. One of the most remarkable moments was Sherry's brother Michael singing a couple of songs before Sherry walked down the isle. He had an amazing voice. He has been singing for over 20 years and I was blown away to how great his voice filled the palm house. Sherry's family was super nice and I had a lot of fun Djing their wedding. .

This was also my first time working with Colleen of Franklin Park. She coordinated the ceremony. Colleen did an amazing job which is exactly what I expected. Franklin Park always does an amazing job. I always recommend Franklin Park for any body's wedding.

I am so proud of this year! So far, this year has been amazing! Encore Entertainment has been going strong and we are very excited to be launching our new photobooth. I feel that I work with some of the best DJ's in Columbus. They have been so loyal and dedicated to our clients. Dave, Eric, Jeremy, Warren and Austin love what they do and care about your wedding. I have been so proud of my DJ's because we take great pride in what we do and we also received "The Best Of" from Theknot.com for 2007. I do want to share just a couple of stories we have experienced with our clients.

One of my favorite stories is when Eric and Dave did a wedding together and the bride forgot to bring her garter so Eric offered to run out and buy a garter so they would be able to perform the garter toss later that night. The bride was very appreciative but in the end, one of her guests ended up bringing it over from the hotel.

Another story I will never forget is the time I was DJ'ing at Franklin Park Conservatory and we were having a bad storm that night. Well, the power went out in the middle of open dancing and after about 5 mins, we decided it probably wasn't coming back on. It had stopped raining so I suggested we move the party outside. I drove my van back onto the back terrace and DJ'ed with stereo system in the van. The bride groom had a blast and it sure will be a wedding that we will not soon forget. It was the only time Franklin Park ever let anyone park on the back terrace.

This past weekend I had the honor of DJ'ing for Alison (Catering Director) of the Lakes Country Club. Everything was absolutely beautiful! Alison planned her ceremony and reception to take place at The Lakes. I have been apart of many weddings there before which have taken place outside in their pavilion. Her reception took place inside the clubhouse and I was blown away to how beautiful everything looked. Her guests were very polite and the dessert table looked Yummy! I also was able to work with Jim Sanders of Jim Sanders Photography. What an amazing photographer. Jim is a super nice guy and I loved the fact that he took some time to help me with my camera. David & Michelle Barson are married! Last night they celebrated their ceremony and reception at The Columbus Athenaeum. Their reception took place in the Large Theater which is such a unique and beautiful room. The Athenaeum staff did a great job working with all the guests and they even took care of the DJ's and photographers. I got to work with Banks Photography which help made the night successful. I always enjoy working with David & Karla Banks, they are two wonderful people that really love what they do. I wanted to post some comments regarding the 2008 Bridal Show. I'm always glad to be a part of such a wonderful event. This year we felt it was different for us. There wasn't as many brides-to-be, which made it easier for us to spend more time with each person who attended our booth. Another reason I enjoy these shows so much is because we are able to network with so many other vendors in the wedding industry. I think all the vendors really enjoy seeing each other. I am excited to be posting upcoming blogs regarding Encore Entertainment and the weddings of our clients. 2007 was a successful year and 2008 has already surpassed last year. We are very pleased with where Encore Entertainment is going and how we are differing ourselves from our competition.
